No. I did not directly know any of the soldiers involved in the initial fight. He was SF, and they work as a tight unit. I was attached to the 2nd MEU (Marine Expeditionary Unit), and we worked The Northern section of Mogadishu, near the old US Embassy on what was called Dead Cow Road near K4 circle. The SF sector and ours did not intersect. We bivouacked on Green Beach near the Mogadishu airport (or what was left of it). Not sure where the SF guys holed up.
